What is Aptean?

Aptean Enterprise Resource Planning Software is a product of the Aptean Corporation, a company formed in 2012 after the merging of CDC Software and Consona Corp. The highly customizable ERP solution is designed on a flexible framework that incorporates finance, manufacturing, and distribution functionality in an effort to empower process manufacturers to realize their diverse business objectives. With a focus on adaptability, Aptean ERP is touted as a business solution that captures the unique way every organization goes about its operations. The product is therefore offered in differentiated packages under various brand names that target distinctive industries.

The products under the Aptean ERP marquee include; Intuitive ERP, Axis ERP, Encompix ERP, DTR ERP, Compiere ERP, Cimnet ERP and Ross ERP. Each of these products is engineered with specific industries in mind.

Intuitive ERP : With over 800 corporate clients in more than 20 countries, this business management solution from Aptean targets companies specializing in production of regulated products such as medical devices, avionics and electronics among others.
Axis ERP: This is a system developed by industry experts to cater specifically for wire and cable makers, metal processors and related product lines.
Encompix ERP: Encompix was built with custom manufacturers such as those in the prefabricated steel industry in mind. It is designed to help a firm manage complex projects and meet exact customer specifications
DTR ERP: This is a product targeting firms in the plastics industry
Compiere ERP: This is a cloud ERP that allows unlimited scalability of its core functionality. It is therefore suited for a growing company as it can integrate easily with new systems as the business continues to expand.
Cimnet ERP: A product targeting the highly dynamic global printed circuit board (PCB) industry
Ross ERP: An ERP system targeting manufacturers that use recipes and formulas to come up with their final product.

RUN

Our organization partnered with Aptean on an ERP system change to Business Dynamics 365 via their product called Equipsoft.

Aptean as an organization is horrible. We are almost 3 years into switching our ERP system to them and it has cost us nearly 500K along with significant internal losses due to not being able to invoice customers, inventory being locked up, and absolute lack of customer service or basic care from Aptean. They are great at apologizing and saying that they will do better going forward, but have 0 delivery on those promises.

During set up they made multiple errors that caused us to have to create work arounds or change the system to accommodate the set up errors.. Then they have the audacity to invoice us for fixing the mistakes that they created in the first place.

They simply do not care about their customer.

Business Dynamics 365 is a great software, I do recommend you go with that software, but MOST DEFINITELY do it through a different software development company.

Cons

Disorganized
Tell you that the system has the capability to do something, but then once you try to implement it they advise you that its a 'customization' and you will need to pay for it
They consider putting your logo on paperwork as a customization
So every invoice, sales order, work order, etc is now a custom document so when Microsoft rolls out system updates, Aptean claims that they have to manually push through the changes due to the customization and that become billable
High turnover of staff which means constantly working with a new person that doesn't understand your business or their product
Upper manager does not follow through with promises
Will listen to complaint but then you never hear from them again
No follow up
Tickets get closed with no explanation and no fix
We have to get ahold of them to find the 'why'
Seriously I could go on forever
