This is a very wonderful system. We use it mainly for data modelling, generating reports, etc. and their client support is exceptional. However, despite the many stated cons, they’re mostly experienced by developers.
If the requirements are simple, it is easy to drag and drop reports, support and community are great, has an adaptable and robust BQL, using the API is simple, writing scripts to automate common roles is possible, and methods of processing data are both simple and complicated. Also, a section of the Admin tool has greatly eased troubleshooting reports thanks to the ability to view the BQL and final SQL query making it extremely simple to locate issues.
It’s not possible to copy and paste items. Copying dashboards and implanted reports isn’t possible. A few admin roles can’t work together with one another. For the admin monitors/screens, they work with FLASH. You can’t manage to have wonderful looking reports if you have needs for ADA approved readability as the fonts are small/medium/large and scrollbars, etc. will be on everything…etc.
More than 40 customers are using Yellowfin, all gave a positive feedback.
Wonderful app to work with.
Cheap, easy, variety of data sources, connectors to dashboards.
Some issues like that of release and bugs.
A new product that needs to enhance some items
Inexpensive, plenty of features to enhance the time to make the tasks operational, and incredible performance in assembling data, security and probability of learning.
Not so intuitive, no option to paste some data, and as times features don't function as initially advertised.
The product enables us to create all types of reports (big data and statistical) for our software platform, allowing us to quickly provide customized reports to our clients."
The product's strength lies in its flexibility in terms of customizing content fields and having a wide selection of pre-defined content with the option to expand through more technical means.
The product requires more resources with every update, making it challenging for small businesses to manage costs, which can result in performance impacts.
